VistaSquad Meeting 27th March 2008

Tonight was the fifth time Vistasquad has come together for a meeting this time held at the London offices of Microsoft. With a gathering of both I.T Pro’s and developers our user group gives us a unique insight to both sides of the coin.

It’s great being able to see the latest technologies, be able to meet, network with people and share our combined years of experience, gaining knowledge in an informative and sometimes entertaining way.

Tonight’s presentations were kicked off with a session by Ray Booysen giving us all a live demo on tips and tricks of Vista with some great info on the search function.

Our second presentation was from a company (www.loaditrunitfixit.com) and their development of a program to aid in the combat of software compatibility and Windows Vista (Total AOK), this software was able to identify and remediate critical application packaging issues automatically – gave amazing reporting in just a few seconds although the demo gods did play up a little on his Windows XP laptop, (teach him not to be running Vista). Anyway very interesting program that seems to be well put together might have to have a look and play with this one.

Well it was great to meet up again and hopefully next meeting I’ll do a presentation on keeping your Windows Vista PC in tip top condition.

Posted a few photos in the gallery.

Bit disappointed with the Changebase people.  There wasn't supposed to be 20 minutes of product. :(

It was interesting but seems to me everyone just wants to sell to us, were did all the people go that are just passionate about technology?
