Following on from Ray's tip on cleaning up disk space,
If you have installed Vista's Service pack 1 and are truly happy every thing is working well, there are some files that can be cleaned up to save some space.
When the service pack installs it automatically backs up all of the system files and settings these can be removed by the following
Start - All Programs - Accessories - Run - VSP1CLN.exe
Remember once done you won't be able to uninstall SP1
